30 groups from the Stroudsburg and East Stroudsburg area get to interpret their hometown in a new way.
It’s called “The Stroudsburg Area Map Room Project” and it’s happening at East Stroudsburg University.
Each group’s map will be part of a traveling exhibition.
Geographical maps can give people the lay of the land and road maps tell them how to get to where they want to go. Now East Stroudsburg University has launched a project creating maps that show the places people in the Stroudsburg and East Stroudsburg area care about.
The Pocono Arts Council began the creation of its group map project at East Stroudsburg University’s Fine and Performing Arts Center on Tuesday, August 14. David Mazure, associate professor of art and design at ESU, is heading up the “Stroudsburg Area Map Room Project” to engage groups in the local community to create individualized large-scale maps of the Stroudsburg/East Stroudsburg region.
